Emotion regulation is people their emotional state intentionally and consequently change the emotion process or behavior. There are many ways to implement emotion regulation, such as suppression, selective attention, distraction, cognitive reappraisal and so on. Thereinto, cognitive reappraisal is proposed by Gross and is the most frequently studied emotion regulation strategy at present. That is, change the emotion effect through re-construction of emotional settings or stimulus meaning. Studying the neural mechanism of emotion regulation can help us to find the physical indexes of emotional health level and to understand the neural basis of depression, anxiety, impulsive behaviors as well as other psychological problems in relation to emotion. Early emotion regulation brain studies are mainly use the methods of fMRI to explore the central nervous system of emotion regulation. In recent years, ERP technology has been applied to study emotion regulation a small amount of studies.
