Mitral Valve Mechanics and Function

摘要：

Progress in valve repair techniques is improving the quality of life of patients with mitral valve regurgitation and make valve repair preferred over valve replacement. However, the major hurdle of valve repair development is mitral valve mechanics, which is not well understood. The objective of this study is to provide a better understanding of mitral valve mechanics and function in terms of leaflet tissue mechanics, effects of annular shape and size on mitral valve function, chordae force distribution, mitral valve mechano-biology.
