THE SURVIVAL ANALYSIS OF NEW HIGH-TECH VENTURES IN SHANGHAI

Through non-parametric method and semi-parametric method, Cox proportion hazards model and stratified Cox model, the study analyzed new high-tech venture in Shanghai, China, with survival analysis, finding that the distribution of new high-tech venture obeyed exponential function. With modeling the covariates affected new venture survival, a general Cox proportion hazards and two stratified Cox proportion hazards models were put forward, and we found that the industry new high-tech venture belonged to, income, education level and major of entrepreneur have significant influence on new venture hazard function. Then the diagnosis supported by the scaled Schoenfeld residuals to the assumption of Cox proportion hazards model showed that it was appropriate to fit Cox proportion hazards model to the survival of new high-tech venture.
