AN INVESTIGATION OF INNOVATION IN SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES LOCATED IN SCIENCE PARKS OF IRAN
In recent decades with increasing of global economic competition, small scale industries (SSIs) have known as an economic growth engine and a tool for employment so they have important role in growth and development of countries. The importance of SSI is its need more investment for their survival and competition capability than big firms to new products and processes. Therefore, SSIs are a potential resource for achieving new ideas and innovation. Previous studies on science parks performance in the most of countries demonstrate the effective and positive roles of these institutions in entrepreneurship, technology and economical development, increasing technological innovation and employment. This paper investigates the innovation in SSI which is settled in science parks of Iran. The primary data collected from questionnaire and has been analysed through using SPSS version 16 software. The results of this study indicate that there are some factors that accelerate innovation within firms. Beside SSIs has a positive and significant effect on innovation and the range of innovation in SSIs is more than other firms.
