KNOWLEDGE INTENSIVE BUSINESS SERVICES WITHIN INDUSTRIAL CLUSTERS: EMBEDDING MECHANISM AND ITS INFLUENCE FACTORS
Under the background of industrial cluster, by referencing the core concept of “embeddedness from new economic sociology, this paper classifies the embedding mechanism of knowledge-intensive business services into two types, i.e. social relationship and economic-transaction relationship, points out that the embedding degree of knowledge- intensive business services is influenced by technical updating speed of industry and technical potential differences between Knowledge-intensive business services and their client firms. Furthermore, 73 effective samples have been chosen from four industrial clusters located in Zhejiang Province. 27 kinds of knowledge-intensive business services, which belong to 11 categories, have been empirical studied. Finally, based on the empirical study, we suggest a strategy of multi-level and diversification for knowledge-intensive business services development.
