Next Generation RO Antiscalant on Desalination

Nalco developed two novel RO/NF antiscalants to satisfy the requirement of environment protection, including strict discharge limitation and increasing wastewater reuse. Phosphonate-free antisealant is able to offer comparable high performance of current organophosphate-based product with a relative lower dosage, but no phosphonate contribution. Calcium phosphate inhibitor contains first new scale inhibitor active for membranes in more than 20 years. It could mitigate calcium phosphate scale with minimal or no pH adjustment, which will decrease the treatment cost and allow a high system recovery, especially facing more and more phosphonate containing wastewater recycle application for RO.
