Model Predictive Control of Cube Satellite with Magnetotorquers
The problem of cube satellite attitude control using magnetic torque rod is considered. The use of model predictive control (MPC) for magnetic control is gaining more and more interests. An MPC magnetic attitude controller is designed with considering both the actuator saturation and the earth’s magnetic field constraints. Laguerre functions are used in controller design, which can help to simplify the solution and reduce the computational burden of onboard chip of cube satellite. Simulation results are given to show the feasibility of this approach.
