Study on the Synthesis and Properties of Lactic Copolymer Polyester Adhesives for Medical Textiles
As a kind of polymer materials with the advantages of biocompatibility and biodegradability, Polylactic acid (PLA) had been applied in clinical medicine widely. So it is the ideal material for preparing adhesives of medical textiles. However, PLA has the disadvantages of lacking flexibility, hydrophilic and so on which make it difficult to be used independently as adhesives. In order to make lactic copolymer in line with the performance requirements of medical textiles adhesives, a series of biocompatible adhesives based on Polylactic Acid-Poly caprolactone are prepared through melt copolymerizing lactic acid (LA) and the ε-caprolactone (CL). The structure and properties of copolymer are characterized by means of Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), Infrared Ray (FTIR) and so on. The effect of the reaction conditions and the amount of CL on copolymers molecular weight, peel strength, toughness, glass transition temperature (Tg) and melting point temperature (Tm) are discussed. The results show that by controlling the reaction conditions, and the amount of CL, polyester adhesives with the biocompatibility for medical textiles can be obtained.
