Preparation and Characterization of SF/PLA Blend Nanofibers
Electrospinning of Bombyx mori silk fibroin/poly-Llactide(SF/PLA 75/25) blend solutions dissolved in 1, 1, 1, 3, 3, 3hexafluoro-2- propanol (HFIP) was investigated to fabricate a biocomposite nanostructure scaffolds. Morphological structure, secondary structure, actinomyces biodegradability as well as thermal property of the SF/PLA blend nanofibers are examined using SEM, FTIR, XRD and TG-DTA analyses. The average diameter of SF/PLA blend nanofibers is 500 nm and degradation rate is 5.86% after 15 days in actinomyces enzyme solution. The results of the FTIR TG-DTA analysis showes that the blend nanofibers contain mainly crystalline structure, combined with the dissolution experiment of SF/PLA blend nanofibers with chloroform, it suggestes that a low degree of compatibility exists between the two polymer when electrospinning together in HFIP.
