Fabrication and Properties Research of Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and Silk Fibroin Blend Membranes
In the present study, the PLGA/SF blended nanofibrous membranes with different weight ratios were fabricated using 1, 1, 1, 3, 3, 3-hexafluoro-2-propanol (HFIP) as a solvent via electrospinng. The nanofibrous morphologies were SEM, SEM showed the nanofibrous diameter was affected by solution concentrations and the blend ratio. The average nanofibrous diameter increased with increasing solution concentration and decreasing the blend ratio of SF to PLGA. ATR FTIR and XRD analyses demonstrated no obvious chemical bond reaction between SF and PLGA, and SF conformation mainly existed in random coil structure. The tensile strength and elongation at break of nanofibrous membrances increased with the content increase of PLGA. Compared with pure SF, mechanical properties of blended nanofibrous membranes were improved. The blended nanofibers are potential for their application in tissue engineering scaffolds and to develop functional biomaterials.
