Research on the Impact of Pre-tension on the Compliance of Artificial Blood Vessel
Vascular compliance is one of the most important characterization indexes of vascular prostheses, which is defined as the ability of prostheses to elastically expand and contract in the circumferential direction in response to a pulsatile pressure. Our novel vascular compliance measure device is able to test the compliance of vascular prostheses in the simulated vivo environment of human body. The dynamic compliance testing method of ISO 7198 indicates that a lined rubber tube should be used to avoid water leakage of vascular prosthesis sample, and certain longitudinal preload should be applied to the test segment. But there are no precise preload indications for different types of vascular prosthesis. Through the test, vascular prostheses showed different compliance under different pre-tension with a lined rubber tube. The circumstance above is bound to affect the test results of dynamic compliance of vascular prostheses. This article aimed to do related research on experimental compliance of vascular prostheses in the simulated vivo environment and explore the mechanism of vascular compliance under pre-tension, then do some verification on related mechanism.
