Synchronous Electrospun Hybrid Ultrafine Fibers from Polyacrylic Resin Ⅱ and Ⅳ
Hybrid drug-loaded ultrafine fibers were successfully prepared of polyacrylic resin Ⅱ and Ⅳ using a dualsyringe programmable infusion pump. Drug-loaded fibers electrospun from co-dissolving solutions of polyacrylic resin Ⅱ ultrafibers were prepared for comparision. The hybrid fibers showed pH-sensitive dissolution properties, one portion of the hybrid was dissolved in low pH circumstance, and the other portion of the hybrid was dissolved above pH6.8. The morphology of the hybrid fibers were observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the results showed that all the ultrafine fibers had a uniform structure and smooth surface. The in vitro dissolution tests showed that drug release from the hybrid fibers sustained for almost 8 hours. The results indicated that the hybrid drug-loaded ultrafibers released the active pharmaceutical ingredients in stomach and intestine stage by stage, respectively. And electrospun fibers improved the dissolution profiles of poorly water-soluble drugs. This kind of the hybrid fibers may find applications in designing and preparing novel targeted DDS (drug delivery systems), sustained-release DDS and multi-drugs controlled release DDS.
