Design of Pressure-Controlled Electric Gastric Lavage Machine

In this paper, the design of a pressured-controlled electric gastric lavage machine that supports both oral and nasal intubations is presented. The machines uses a single chip to sample the air pressure and position signals, calculates the time rate of pressure change, then drives the relays and the electromagnetic valves to adjust working condition in real time. The machine has many functions, such as gastric lavage, alarming, etc. According to the experimental results with analogue stomach, the machine can function normally under 45kPa, and issue an alarm when the pressure exceeds the threshold. The machine also provides mechanisms to reduce the risk of gastric rupture.
