Automatic Detection System for Pavement Cracks Based on Digital Image
Manual visual inspection based on the traditional method of growing cracks can not meet the highway development. To meet this need, an automatic road crack detection method based on image processing is proposed in the paper. The process of the method is following: using a fast response non-uniformity of the gray-scale image correction method and degrading image to enhance the road and then threshold segmentation, to extract the linear features of images, and finally under the linear features from the original gray-scale image, to identify cracks in goal. The entire software system is user-friendly designed and easy to operate. The computer image processing result shows that the method is feasibility and validity.
