Simple and Highly Integrated Rectenna for Wireless Power Transmission
A simple folded dipole antenna modified for a highly integrated rectenna application is presented. It is shown that through these modifications, the proposed rectenna system design is almost simplified to only a required antenna design. The design cycle time is much reduced. In addition, the proposed rectenna system is uni-planar, robust, and compact, which lead to easy design and realization at required frequency ranges with low cost. Two 2.45 GHz rectennas are designed and characterized for their microwave performances. Considering the benefits of the proposed rectenna, it is very suitable to supply the power for small wireless sensor applications.
