Highly Sensitive Hall Sensor for Brushless DC Motor
This paper describes a highly sensitive integrated Hall sensor with 0.6 urn BiCMOS technology for brushless DC motor. The sensor contains a switched cross-shaped Hall plate and a novel signal conditioner circuit with a dynamic quadrature offset cancellation technique. Although the signal conditioner is very simple, the sensor has achieved a very high sensitivity. The simulation results show it can detect minimum 2.5 mT magnetic field and realize CMOS digital signal output. Meanwhile, the offset signal of more than 9 mV amplitude can be effectively cancelled out.
