Research on Nonlinearity Correction Method of FMCW Radar
The limiting factor for the use of Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology is the well known presence of nonlinearity in the transmitted signal. The nonlinearity presented in the transmit signal of an FMCW radar will lead to the spread of the target energy over different frequencies and cause the deterioration of the range resolution. In practical SAR system, the frequency and time of the frequency modulated signal cant keep linearity absolutely. In this paper, the effect of nonlinear frequency modulation to range resolution in FMCW radar is analyzed. A method of polynomial fit is proposed in order to estimate the nonlinearity of the frequency modulated signal, and the nonlinearity is corrected. Finally, the simulation result is given, and the result shows this method is valid.
