Weighted Correction Positioning Algorithm Using Maximum Likelihood Estimation in WSN

In order to suppress received signal strength indication (RSSI) errors to the positioning precision of localized nodes in wireless sensor networks, a beacon node weighted correction localization algorithm is proposed based on analytical models of the maximum likelihood estimation and RSSI. With the beacon nodes own positioning capabilities, use the weighted centroid localization algorithm to obtain the positioning error of the region nearby the beacon node. When calculating the coordinates of blind node in this region, this error can be compensated, thereby enhancing the positioning accuracy of blind nodes. The positioning algorithm is easy to be realized without the additional hardware spending. The average error is only about 2m, so it is fit for the positioning of the nodes in wireless sensor network whose operation abilities and power supplies are restricted.
