Research of Camera Calibration Algorithm Using in 3D Measurement
This paper proposes a new camera calibration method with high precision and simple process for 3D measurement of stereo vision system. Comer points are extracted from tessellated plane through harris operator, and then two cameras are calibrated. The process is divided into two steps. Firstly, a linear model without lens distortion is constructed in order to estimate all parameters of camera via solving overdetermined linear equations. Secondly, initial values of linear parameters are optimized by introducing two-order radial distortion model. The experiment results indicate that this method with high calibrating accuracy is a simple and practical one. Through camera calibration, we can accomplish 3D measurement in computer vision.
