Design of New Portable Frequency Multi-Parameter Calibration Equipment Based on CPCI Bus

Because the measurement theory and method are different, each frequency parameter calibration needs a set of measurement instruments. So the expenses for frequency multi-parameter calibration are high. Also it is difficult to carry about these sets of instruments to the field. In this paper, the design of a new portable frequency multi-parameter calibration equipment is introduced. The equipment is developed for frequency multi-parameter characteristics metrology and measurement service in the field. Using integration design technology based on compact PCI bus, the equipment has three measurement functions in the system such as frequency accuracy, frequency stability and phase noise. Also it has embedded computer system, GPS frequency standard and low phase noise frequency source. So the customer can do calibration even without taking any other frequency sources and computers with them. Using high reliable structure and electromagnetic shielding design, this calibration equipment has good EMC performance. The application shows that this calibration equipment runs stably and accurately. The technology and methods adopted in the calibration equipment are practical and worthy of using abroad.
