A Method of High Resolution Position Detection at Vehicle Based on Induction Radio
Induction radio based position detection technology including two key issues-detecting speed and resolution, has been widely applied in automatic control for industrial operating vehicles. According to its position detector location, it can be classified into position detection at fixed station (PDFS) and at vehicle (PDV), where the latter is superior to the former in speed and applicability. In this paper, a method of induction radio based high resolution PDV is proposed. It achieves the high resolution position detection by modeling the electromagnetic induction between coils in antenna and pair-wires in coded cable using the uniform magnetic field model. The basic principles and framework of the proposed method are demonstrated, and details of its key components such as the structure and coded cable etc. are presented as well. Finally, the experimental results proof that the proposed method can achieve continuous position detection with a high resolution of 2mm.
