Adaptive MPSK Modulation for Quasi-OSTBC MIMO Systems with Receive Antennas Selection
In order to enhance quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes (QOSTBC) wireless communications systems spectrum efficiency, an adaptive multiple level phase shift-keying (MPSK) modulation technique is introduced to Jafarkhanis QOSTBC systems with receive antennas selection in flat Rayleigh fading channels, where channel state information (CSI) is available to the receiver. Employing the sparse property of the Grammian matrix of quasi-orthogonal equivalent channel and covariance matrix principle, we decouple the received signals, and derive an expression of instantaneous received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for 4 transmit antennas and arbitrary receive antennas M_R QOSTBC system. Using the instantaneous SNR, a criteria of the receive antennas selection (RAS) is proposed, while an algorithm on adaptive modulation (AM) is presented. Finally, the simulation results show that combination of the AM technology and RAS technology can greatly increase the channel capacity (CH-CAP) and average number of bits per the transmitted symbol (NBPTS) on QOSTBC systems.
