Reserch on the Instrument for Measuring Temperature and Humidity

In this paper, a system for monitoring temperature and humidity is studied. The system is consists of temperature sensor AD590, humidity sensor HS1100, microcontroller AT89C51, et al. The analog single from AD590 converts to digital single by the device ADS1110. The ADS1110 is a precision, continuously self-calibrating Analog-to-Digital (A/D) converter with differential inputs and up to 16 bits of resolution in a small SOT23-6 package. The ADS1110 uses an I~2C-compatible serial interface. The single form HS1100 is in the form of pulse. The typical frequency is 6600Hz for 55% RH / 25℃. Such a frequency is difficult to be measured with high resolution in a short time by the counter in the microcontroller. So the single is turned into the form of timing. Then it can be measured by the timer in the microcontroller. Based on the temperature and the humidity, the dew point is counted and showed in the display. Therefore, there are two D/A outputs in the system, which can be used to control the temperature and humidity. The system is also calibrated by typing the keyboard. The system can be satisfied the needs of general industry.
