Development of a Measurement System for Five-Axis CNC Machine Tools
A measurement system of five-axis CNC machine tools is presented in this paper. The five-axis machine tools are widely applied in the machine industry, but the measurement techniques are rarely. When a fiveaxis machine tool works at multi-axis simultaneously, including the linear axes and the rotation axes, the errors are combined. Thus, the error of a single axis cannot be individually obtained at present. In order to measure the geometrical errors of a five-axis machine tool, a measurement system is presented in this paper. By the designed work path of the fiveaxis CNC machine tool, the errors can be acquired simultaneously, including the 2+1 (the X, Y and C axes) system, the 3+1 (the X, Y, Z and C axes) system and the 3+2 (the X, Y, Z, A and C axes) system.
