How can Product-Service Systems enable emanufacturing?

The product-service system(PSS)is a promising approach towards sustainable development due to its potential of reducing environmental impacts through dematerialization, extending product lifetime and reducing the consumption of resources.Remanufacturing can be considered a promising end-of-life strategy to improve the environmental profiles of PSSs,keeping products in a closed loop and ensuring proper post-use management. The efficiency of remanufacturing systems can,in turn,be increased by PSS,especially those in which products remain in the providers’ownership. This paper aims to identify the remanufacturing barriers that could be solved with the implementation of PSS and to highlight the potential advantages of this integration.
