Assessment of Reverse Supply Chain Designs based on Reference Business Processes
In the past years a framework of legal regulations has been set up to move from a source-sink economy to a closed-loop economy. In this context, product recycling offers economic, ecological and social potentials. In order to ensure economic feasibility, efficient product take-back systems have to be implemented that enable the return and identiflcation of products, conserve the product value and allow the preparation for reuse and reintegration into manufacturing, service or distribution. Therefore, adequate structures and business processes are needed to carry out the operations in a reverse supply chain. In this paper, the assessment of reverse supply chains based on a modular model of reference business processes using an eco-efficiency portfolio is presented.
