New business models for tooling companies based on intelligent injection molds
Based on so-calledintelligentinjection molds the, value-adding chains of a toolmaker and his customer are linked not just in a formal way of performing business activities:Intelligent injection molds integrate the toolmaker into his customers production process by making extended process data from the tool in service available to both customer and toolmaker.This data enables the latter to offer product-related services along the tools useful life and helps him to increase the operational availability of the tool.This added value can be substantiated in new business models.
