The technique of reconstructing Ionospheric TEC Map with the data of single observation station based on the background field using IRI

Owing to the sparse data, the reconstructing Ionospheric Maps are not exact enough, especially in the verges, while using the interpolation methods directly. In order to obtain better TEC Maps, the reconstruction is performed by Inverse Distance Weighting Method and Kriging Method using IRI-2007 as the background field.The tests produce a better performance according to using Cross-validation Method: on one hand, the new technique decreases the errors effectively, especially in the verges;on the other hand, the proportions of absolute errors between 0.25TECU and 0.25TECU at all points in the reconstructing Ionospheric Maps are improved to 70% and 100% apart by using the two foregoing methods directly, and the results of statistic show a normal distribution. Duing to the errors of background field and the process of interpolation, the reconstructing maps are not smooth and precise enough, and it can be improved by using successive correction method.
