Remote Sensing and Structure Analysis for Turbulence and Fog in Atmospheric Boundary Layer

The turbulence phenomena and fog formation mechanism related to air pollution in atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) are discussed with radar, satellite, and sounding data. Research results show that air pollution in urban may also be stronger than that of rural areas because the city turbulence is larger. The structure analysis with the v-30 chart indicates that typical fog features are the inversion layer, more humidity and north wind in ABL. The pioneer of cold air is the important information for the fog formation and evolution. Winter fog is the transition area between the cold and warm air.
