The Influence of Stratosphere Sudden Warming on Weather/Climate of China
SSW events between 1957 and 2002 have been investigated to show the way that major SSW influence weather/climate of China. The circulation at high latitude in stratosphere changes dramatically in the stratosphere sudden warming events. The circulation anomalies after major SSW can propagate downward and affect troposphere circulation. According to the research of this paper, the temperature anomalies and the gcopotential height anomalies downward propagation can lead to stronger SiberianHigh and lower Aleutian-Low after major SSW as well as the EAST-Asian trough become deeper and west, which make the East-Asian winter monsoon strong and the north China cold. SSW due to strong upward planetary waves in E1 Nifio winter can lead to enhanced East-Asian winter monsoon. It is a different way with past researches in which ENSO affect weather/climate of China.
