Effect of dispersant on capacitance performance of MnO2 in liquid-phase synthesis for supercapacitor
MnO2 as electrode material for supercapacitor was synthesized by the chemical precipitation method using potassium permanganate and sulfuric acid aqueous solution as raw materials and sodium lauryl sulfate as dispersant. The particle size, morphology and structure of as-synthesized MnO2 were investigated by XRD, SEM, and BET. And the electrochemical performances of the electrode material were evaluated by the cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic chargingdischargin~. The results showed that BET specific surface areas of MnO2 was improved 30% and can reach 118.25m2g-1 after addition of dispersant. MnO2 in the potential window range from -0.6 to 0.4v (vs. SCE) exhibited excellent capacitance. Due to improvement of dispersive and contact fully between activated materials and electrolyte, the specific capacitance of single electrode was improved 30% at the 200mAg-1 and can reach 270Fg-1.
