DOA Estimation of LFM Signal Based on the FRFT and MUSIC Algorithms

A novel algorithm for the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation based on the Fractional Fourier transform (FRFT) and Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) is proposed. In this method, the observed signals are transformed to the fractional Fourier (FRF) domain, then we present an adaptive narrow band-pass filter from the measured signals themselves, using the superior time frequency localization. The time-varying direction matrix of the LFM signal can converge to time-invariant direction matrix. Then the direction estimation of LFM signals can be achieved by combining with the MUSIC method in the fractional Fourier (FRF) domain. Simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness of our method.
