A User-Division Cross-Layer Resource Allocation Scheme for OFDMA System

A new user-division cross layer resource allocation scheme is proposed for the downlink of OFDMA system that considers the QoS requirements. The user-division model based on finite-length user queue is built up while the user rate constraints are formulated. Users are dynamic and divided into “super users and “common users by time delay. After all the users’QoS is guaranteed, subcarriers and power is preferentially allocated to the “super users while maximizing the system throughput. Simulation results show that the scheme can reduce the packet drop rate and maintain high system throughput when the packet arrival rate is high.
