Local Gabor Phase Feature for Palm-Dorsal Vein Recognition
This paper presents a novel palm-dorsal vein recognition approach based on Local Gabor phase feature. Firstly, the proposed method locates the region of interest (ROI) of the palm-dorsal vein image and then extracts quadrant-bit codes from the vein image based on the Gabor transformation. Finally, the local Gabor phase feature encodes the local neighborhood phase variations by using a local XOR pattern operator. To verify the efficiency of our method, experiments were carried on our own palmdorsal vein image database. The experimental results show that the local Gabor phase feature could provide sufficient information for vein recognition.
