Research on Users’Product Material Perception
Material plays an important role in product design and affects consumers’preference in purchase. To study the user’s material perception, a novel approach of the semantic differential (SD) method was adopted. Taken the cup with different material as an example, the characteristics of users’ material perception were concluded, such as transparent, reflexivity, texture, and then the weightiness of material perception was discussed. The study of the users material perception of product will assist the designers in material design of product, and find out the material attributes and meaning for material design of product.
