The simulation of floodplain flow on the tideland

Floodplain flow simulation is a much more difficult part of the tidal flow numerical simulation.Firstly this study gained the whole process datum of floodplain flow in Cixi tideland. Based on this datum,two-dimensional numerical model is built up to study the characteristics of the floodplain flow.Wet-dry boundaries are used in the floodplain boundaries in the model.The traditional treatment methods of water-level on the wet-dry boundaries may lead to instability of the model calculation.In this paper,a new water-level treatment method on the wet-dry boundaries is introduced,so as to resolve the convergence problem caused by improper water-level treatment on boundaries.At last,the entire process of tidal floodplain flow is simulated by this numerical model; which reflects the characteristics of the floodplain flow.
