Potential Analysis and Policy Innovation of Forestry Carbon Sequestration Market Under the Clean Development Mechanism in China
The Clean Development Mechanism (CUM) has been detmed m Article 12 of the Kyoto Protocol to promote sustainable development in non-Annex I countries (most developing countries) and to assist Annex I Parties to achieve compliance with their emission limitation and reduction commitments. The forest carbon sequestration is one important kind of credits could be traded in market. Based on the forestry resources in china, the forest carbon potential was analyzed under CDM, and the demand and supply models were set up. Through research of the key factors which affected the CDM carbon market, the policy innovation mechanism of forestry CDM market was set up, and one opinion was also proposed at the same time that china should conduct relevant capacity building and policy and technical studies so as to raise the competitiveness of China.
