Hydraulic systems in wave energy application
Wave energy of oceans and seas has become one potential energy source to help in the world-wide energy crisis. Many wave energy projects have been already quite long time going on and new ones have been started recently. There are many different ways to convert wave energy to some other energy. Maybe most interesting and most widely applied idea it to convert it to electric energy. Hydraulic systems are used in some of them to realize this conversion. Typical system consists of pumping hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic motor which rotates an electric generator. Some basic principles are presented. Simulation results of a couple of principles are shown.
