Experimental analysis on oil film properties of plane port pair in axial piston machine
To investigate lubrication characteristics of plane port pair, one of the most critical tribo-pairs in axial piston pump or motor, a new test rig was built up to simulate the operating condition of the pair and obtain the lubricating oil film for parameter acquisiting. This rig is principally characterized by supply pressure up to 31.5 MPa, accurate control of oil film thickness by separate design of oil circuit and electrohydraulic feedback control, and the control properties of its hydraulic circuit were simulated. The measured oil film thickness was analyzed by comparison of experiments and theoretical results. Experiments show that time for film forming and balance film thickness are two key parameters for describing oil film properties, and that operating condition such as supply pressure, fluid temperature also notably affects the film thickness and its distribution, but they do not show equivalent action. Lubrication effects can be valued by the measured frictional torque of the tribo-pair. Based on simulating the operating condition, acquisiting three main parameter for the lubrication characteristics of oil film using the test rig, is one effective methods for lubrication characteristic research on plane tribo-pairs.
