Frequency response of 2D digital servo valve
A 2D digital servo valve is composed of a 2D servo valve and an embedded controller. The 2D servo valve is virtually a pilot control valve, designed by using both rotary and linear motions of a single spool. The rotary motion of the spool is actuated by a synchronous servo motor. Apart from the mechanical part, the performance of the digital servo valve is also highly dependent upon control strategy of the valve. It is fulfilled by the embedded controller, which is a specially designed microcomputer system with TMS320F2812 as CPU. In this paper, the design philosophy and control strategy of the 2D digital servo valve are first introduced and the key structure parameters affecting the static and dynamic characteristics of the 2D digital servo valve are analyzed, Secondly, utilizing the theories of fluid power dynamics and electromagnetics, the mathematic model of the 2D digital valve is established. The frequency response of the 2D digital servo valve is experimentally measured. Experimental results show that the 2D digital servo valve has a fairly fast response speed, and the bandwidth is about 100 Hz at -3dB gain for 25% input signal.
