Research on parallel hybrid hydraulic excavator with energy regeneration system

Adopting hybrid system with energy regeneration system is a new way for hydraulic excavator to achieve energy saving. The model of a parallel hybrid hydraulic excavator, which uses an electric motor to drive the swing and a hydraulic motor to regenerate the gravitational potential energy of the boom, is established, Then the energy-saving and the control performance of energy regeneration system is researched. Experimental results prove that the proposed system can improve the distribution of engine work points and the efficiency of the ER system can be up to 70%.
