Design and dynamic analysis of a micro three-axis turntable

This paper introduces a novel asymmetric micro threeaxis turntable, which is designed for the research of the flight control system and inertial navigation system of a MAV(micro aerial vehicle) or SUAV (small unmanned aerial vehicle). The turntable is vertical arrangement and driven by electric motors. Photoelectric encoders are used to be feedback elements. The system has a two-stage control structure composed of host computer and slave computer. This turntable is designed to have the characteristics of high precision, simple structure and low cost. Contrast with the exiting symmetric turntable, 3 frameworks of this micro three-axis turntable is designed to be all L type structure. Then, accurate dynamic equations of the three-axis turntable are derived from the perspective of Lagranges equations of motion for further research.
