Design and simulation analyses of fixed fire water monitor
Fire water monitor is one of the most important equipment in fire fighting. It is very important to design a fire water monitor that has good hydraulic performances. On the basis of the theory calculation, a manual fixed fire water monitor of type 100 was designed. The monitor can rotate 360° in horizontal direction, and it can also rotate from the angle of -40° to the angle of +70° in vertical direction. At the same time, the monitor spraying position can be adjusted by operating the hand wheel, and it can also automatically be locked. Stress simulation of the worm pipe of the fire water monitor was carried out using Pro/Mechanica tool. The relationships between channel geometries of monitor body and jet performance were simulated using fluent tool, and the rules of inlet pressure, outlet velocity and structural parameters of monitor body was also confirmed. The research results can verify the reasonableness and accuracy of the designed fire water monitor, and it can also provide theoretical basis to the design of other types fire water monitor.
