Numerical simulation of flow characteristics for jetting emulsifier with 30° impinging

n present work, a review of all kinds of traditional emulsifiers has been summarized. On base of the theory of emulsify and impinging researches by authors all over the word, a new type emulsifier with high efficiency was designed. In order to obtain more information about this equipment, the two-dimensional steady fluid flow impinging through two jetting nozzle is numerically studied, the turbulent flow field was simulated using Navier-Stokes equations and standard k — ε turbulent model, which was solved by commercial software FLUENT6.0. The results show that the velocity, pressure and energy dissipation of jetting zone are symmetric with the axis y, velocity and pressure of different area are increasing with inlet velocity increase but down as the jetting nozzle distance become bigger. An important issue was discovered that the secondary impingement was occurred along axis y. Therefore, the jetting zone is an efficient flow field for heat and mass transfer, it is important for emulsify.
