Research on optimum design of low-specific-speed complex impeller centrifugal pump based on 3- dimensional flow analysis

The optimum design system based on the 3D flow analysis is carried out on low-specific-speed complex impeller centrifugal pump, which includes four parts, design of basal parameters, flow analysis, performance prediction and information feedback. It consists of the two- dimensional flow theory and empirical formula design with objective of efficiency, stability and suction performance, and flow analysis on complex impeller based on the N-S equation and S-A turbulent model. The design example and experimental study are carried out on a highspeed complex impeller centrifugal pump. The satisfied performances are obtained, the headcapacity characteristic curve of pump has no hump, the relative velocity and pressure distributions in impeller channel are reasonable. This shows that the excellent-performance low-specific-speed complex impeller centrifugal pump can be gained adopting the design method. The proposed method is of importance for the design of complex impeller centrifugal pump.
