Study on effect of parameters of impeller on output characteristic of blood pump
A novel axial flow spiral blood pump with conical rotor is studied in this paper. First, the 3D model of blood pump is given. Second, the output of axial flow blood pump with different impeller is simulated using CFD. The effect of blade parameter on output characteristic of blood pump is anylased in this paper. The result shows that helix angle of blade has much effect on pump output, and number of blade has little effect on pump output. The simulation results give the flow situation in the pump. By using CFD simulation, the output character of pump with different structure and size can be compared easily, so it can save lots of money and time for making prototype. At the same time, the flow field can be studied by the CFD simulation, which can be very difficult to complete by conventional measurement technology.
