Tunnel fire simulation based on FDS
Tunnel environment is particular, and when fire happens, to put out the fire is rather difficulty and fire threats life safety of people. By simulating tunnel fire, fire procedure is recurred. Study fire phenomenon and analyze fire seasons. Specific to highway tunnel fire, the paper used FDS4.01(Fire Dynamics Simulator) to build model of tunnel fire. In the model, tunnel was 200m long, 12m wide and 5 m high. In the center there was a oil tank truck which was the fire source. Then field simulation was carried out. In the various ventilation conditions, analyze smoke circulation trend and distribution features of fire scene and temperature field change of region where was different distance away from fire source. Researched and discussed important function for selection of fire device and method of fire detection. Simulation results show that by analyzing temperature change data and content of various gases and particle, we choose high pressure water mist fire suppression system as fire fighting device of tunnel according to fire features. By viewing ignition process from Smokeview software, it proved that fire simulation reflects real fire development trend and provides theoretical basis for fire fighting and the rescue.
