MANAGING STABILITY OF TRAFFIC FLOW ON HYPERCONGESTED EQUILIBRIUM

摘要：

The static model of traffic flow attains the hypercongested equilibrium with stability while given the elastic except the constant traffic demand. The stable conditions are determined. The hypercongested equilibrium is stable if the rate of decreasing traffic flow to increasing travel time is great enough whereas the traffic demand reacts on the change of travel time intensely. Limiting the total traffic demand, reducing the response intensity of traffic demand and diminishing uncertainty of travel time are alternatives well to eliminate the hypercongest ed equilibrium.
