IMPROVING PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY WITH TOTAL PROFIT MAXIMIZATION USING AN AUTONOMOUS EQUIPMENT MODEL
This paper proposes a method of backward scheduling for maximizing total profits (BSMTP) under the re striction of production job’s schedule using autonomous production equipment model. As an example of appli cation, on-demand-printing equipment (system) used in the printing industry is made into an applied model, and the usefulness of this method is shown. Moreover, numerical simulations perform comparison and evalua tion of the maximum total job’s profits of the proposed method with that of the following four kinds of methods: FIFO, SPT, LPT, and MPJ (Most Profit Jobs).
