PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT MECHANISM AT THE TERTIARY LEVEL:A FOCUS ON THE ACADEMIC STAFF
It is the key issue for any tertiary institutions to have its own top-quality academic staff to be ranked as one of the first-rate universities. A problem facing the universities today is to improve the academic staff perform ance assessment system and produce effective incentive mechanism. This paper investigates the assessment mechanism in terms of the components, criteria and procedures involved.
